Announcing the 2017 Portland Trophy Cup p/b The Athletic

The Portland Trophy Cup is back for its fourth year, coming at you from Portland International Raceway. Expect a fast and exceptionally well lit course that will test your early season fitness and cornering skills. This year’s series starts up Tuesday September 5th and runs five weeks through October 3rd.

Inhabit Portland has generously sponsored the Junior races meaning that all Juniors race Trophy Cup for free this season!

Who else gets to race for free you ask? Are you from out of town? How far out of town? If you live 150 miles from PIR, you get to race for free. You traveled all the way here, I just think you ought to come out and race.

What's Cyclocross without a Party?

We will be having a kick-off party & number pick up at Breadwinner Cycles (2323 N Williams Ave) Thursday August 31st from 5-8pm. We will be serving beer or coffee for those teetotalers. Not registering for the series? Still come and pick up your number (and hang out with us), it’ll make day of registration that much easier.

Breadwinner Cycles is also graciously providing the cash money for the holeshot competition for the Single Speed Men, Category 1/2 Women and Category 1/2 Men. Is this why they have a bike called the Holeshot?

Pre-Registration Details

Due to this being a week day race, it is HIGHLY recommend that you pre-reg to save time the day of the race. To incentive this, pre-reg cost is $18 per race or $90 for the series. Race day registration is $22 per race.

You can pre-reg for the season or individual nights online or at the kick-off party.

Volunteers are always needed for teardown after the night’s racing and for course marshalls during the races. You can sign here at and your night’s racing entry will be covered.

Gladys Bike and the 'Cross Curious Club

Gladys Bikes and the ‘Cross Curious Club will be hosting a clinic before the racing starts each night to get new riders ready for the season. Clinic skills will build each week and be specific to the challenges of that week’s course but you can drop in to one or all them. Deets

As always, we'll have great food and drink for everybody. We'll have Tamale Boy serving delicious food to all the hungry racers and anybody that came out to watch the races. Back for the fourth season will be Gigantic Brewing, serving up quality IPA and Kölsch at the Motocross Cafe. Come for the racing, stay for food and a beer!

Metropolis Cycles will be at the races each week providing neutral support for all racers. Get a flat on the way to the races? Let your buddy work on your bike last week and now it doesn't shift right? They'll have you covered.

We have over $6000 in prizes from The Athletic, Metropolis, Stages, Portland Design Works and Rapha for the top 3 series finishers of each category. There will be cash payout for the series podiums for the 1/2 fields that will be brought to you by Stages and Portland Design Works. Breadwinner Cycles is the gracious sponsor of holeshot competition; the Single Speed Men as well as both 1/2 fields will be taking home $50 each night. With the Single Speed Women being a new category we don't yet know whether we can do a hole shot competition. The best way to make that happen is to show up in force and let me know!

Keep up to date with everything we’ve got going on at our website or on TwitterFacebook & Instagram.

See you at the races!
